This video was sent to me recently. It’s a tour of the NGS basement with the unit on-line. It captures the sights and sounds of the basement area. Among other things, you’ll see and hear the Bowl Mills, Boiler Feed Pumps/Aux Turbines, and Boiler Feed Booster Pumps. This brought back a lot of memories! For those familiar with it, this basement tour will do the same for you.

Here’s another snapshot of the unit 1 boiler under construction and construction progressing on unit 2. The structure for the U1 and U2 elevator is clearly visible. The units 1 & 2 turbine deck is there. One of the yellow Bechtel trucks we used to see all over town is in the foreground. Click the image to enlarge.

Here’s another view of unit one’s boiler structure under construction. This is looking west-ish toward the town of Page. All the unit one silos are in place. Notice the workers on the top right of the photo. Click to enlarge. Be sure to check out my YouTube Channel too.
NGS Unit One Under Construction
This early photo of unit one at Navajo Generating Station is taken from the south, looking north. Click to enlarge it and take a closer look at the detail. The power block foundations for units one and two are in place and the coal silos for unit one are set. There’s a guy running a John Deere front-end loader in the foreground. Nothing runs like a Deere!
